Based on two different stories about my paternal great grandfather, Robert Baillie. He was a coachman in Paisley, where my family are from. When William “Buffalo Bill” Cody brought his show to the UK in 1887, some of his horses were stabled at my great grandfather’s place.

New Novel Draft Complete

Since the beginning of this year, I have been working on a new full length novel project. Today I completed the first draft of what is currently being titled In the Vast and Boundless Deep. This draft is about 29,000 words long, which is shorter than my target, but came to an end at what felt like the right place. And there’s a great deal in there to expand upon

The Gift Garden Published

Does crap get self-published? Of course. But take a look at the shelves of commercial mainstream fiction. How much of that is garbage? This isn’t even a remotely valid rebuff to self-publishers any more. It’s straight up bullshit. If your work is good, has value, it will find its audience.
